Well Batwoman fans, the news we were dreading has come to pass. Today, Caroline Dries announced that The CW has not renewed the show for a fourth season, meaning that this last season was the last. It's definitely upsetting news, as we were sure there was plenty more of Ryan's story to tell, as well as the rest of the Bat team, plus more villains around Gotham. We were hoping we'd get at least one more season, but it's more likely that The CW is trying to focus on developing Gotham Knights, a show that will be helmed by some of the crew behind Batwoman, but will not be related to the show.

They could have served the character better. I think the prospect of a movie or limited series focusing on Kate Kane's search for Bruce Wayne, as eluded to at the end of season 2 would have gone a long way in mending the divide between fans. Although, I will always see Kate as Batwoman, I think her as an alternate hero version of the Red/Scarlet Hood would have been fun. Then we good have teamed her with Red Alice.
Hard to say if it would be different if the CW wouldn't be up for sale, perhaps we will know more about that.
