Well, that synopsis is extremely vague :D
But I'm looking forward to that birthday and the unexpected guest....whoever that may be!

Unexpected guest? Hmm... (thinking outloud here) the "surprise appearance" hints that it's someone we already know. Personally, I'm hoping it's Kara Danvers/Supergirl - they make such a great team, and have awesome chemistry together (and Kate could really use a BFF right now)! But, it may be too soon after Crisis. Unless it's the Spectre - that would be in keeping with the "demons from the past". From the sparse description, this could be another drama episode, much like "Mine Is a Long and a Sad Tale" - which I think is great that they're mixing action stories with character-driven stories.
