Welcome back Batwoman fans! First things first, Happy Valentine's Day! Whether your attached, single or somewhere in between we hope you all have a wonderful day. Obviously one thing that makes our day better is a new episode of Batwoman and that's exactly what we have tonight! Ryan has cemented her place as the new Batwoman but with Safiyah claiming she's taken Kate and that Kate is still alive, Sophie and Alice are under her rule. We imagine it won't be much longer until Commander Kane might fall under that rule as well. The poor man has lost more daughters than he technically has at this point. But enough with the silliness, here's what stood out to us tonight:
- Snake Bite: The False Face society is making and distributing the new drug Snake Bite. It seems like a very odd pair of drugs being put together, hallucinogen mushroom oil and fear toxin from the Scarecrow. Not a fun combination. Batwoman was able to hunt down a dealer and sends a message that she would cut the head of the snake off. It's notable that Batwoman wasn't at her best because of the Kryptonite wound. Jacob holds a press conference and offers $1 million dollars for information on getting Kate back. Luke finds this appealing and goes to assist with Jacob's efforts. Mary pairs with Ryan to go hunt for a missing child that a young boy alerted Ryan to.
- Alice and Sophie: Sophie is startled to see Alice in her apartment. We learn that it's only been 48 hours since the last episode. Alice convinces Sophie to help her and they are looking for a man named Ocean. Bouncing between real time and flash backs we learn that there is some old white lady abducting children. She abducted Ryan once and that is leading her investigation into the missing boy. Apparently this woman would sell the children into gangs. The Candy Lady would play a game with her abducted kids. 64 days she would wait and if someone would come looking for the child, they would be allowed to go, but if no one came, the child would believe that they were invisible and adhere to the Candy woman's will.
- Mary's New Place: We find out that Mary has moved into Kate's place above the bar. She offers the other bedroom to Ryan who quickly accepts. In a flashback we learned that Ryan's first girlfriend was looking for her and allowed herself to be captured so they could both break out. In current times, Ryan tells us they haven't spoken in some time. Using the tracking that Kate did while looking for Beth, Mary and Ryan are able to locate the house of the Candy Lady. Ryan goes to confront her but the False Face Gang is there to abduct her.
- An Awkward Trio: Luke, Sophie and Alice stand down from their stand off and Luke agrees to help if it allows them to find Kate. Back at the Candy Lady's house, Ryan gets the drop on the old lady and demands to know where the missing boy is. We find out that Jacob is going to meet a possible informant but it's actually the missing boy earning his "mask" for the False Face Gang. Jacob is tasered.
- Ocean: Sophie and Alice go to track down Ocean but he isn't where they thought he was. Kevin, the boy who was sold pulls a gun on Jacob to earn his place in the gang but Batwoman is there to stop him. After taking out the gang, Ryan as Batwoman is able to talk the kid off the ledge.
- Kate Kane: Alice reveals that she only wants to find Kate so she can be the one to kill her. This breaks the partnership up and now it's a race to find Kate first. Team Batwoman or Team Alice. Alice checks out the Ocean's place and she has a hidden memory revealed of her and Ocean seemingly romantically involved. The episode ends with Ryan's ex arriving at the bar and the two call a truce.

Well, it was Valentine's Day after all.
Many couples had other things to "do" as to watch the show live on TV
They will stream it on the CW or have recorded it on TV.
The ratings will go up next week.
Pretty sure the CW wouldn't have shown an episode on Valentine's day, but it was Super Bowl the week before. So 2 Sundays without a new episode, especially this early in the season, wasn't a real option I guess.
Yes... the "box". I was dying to know what was inside, but it suspect it may have been TMI.
Sadly, this episode hit/ tied series low in viewers/demo.
I loved how Alice was teasing Sophie all the time! Also as Ryan found Marys....."special" box (I guess with the naughty toys
Could have had a little more action for me, but overall a good episode for sure!

Rachel Skarsten just loves chewing up the scenery as Alice and I love every scene she's in...
