The CW just released their fall schedule and Batwoman is moving to Wednesday for next season and a five episode event on The Flash was announced featuring many crossover characters.I would be surprised if Batwoman isn't involved.

The Big Moves

♦ The Flash‘s five-episode event will feature crossovers with TBD Arrowverse characters. “We’re talking about other superheroes from the CWverse that will come together in each [of the] individual episodes,” says CW CEO Mark Pedowitz. “That will not quite be a crossover but it will have a crossover-type feel at the introduction of all these characters.”

♦ Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are also on the move, with both shows fleeing Sunday for Wednesday. (The CW is turning Sunday nights over to game shows.) Nancy Drew, meanwhile, will shift from Wednesdays to (gulp) Fridays.

WEDNESDAY
8 pm DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (new night)
9 pm Batwoman (new night)

ETA

Deadline has a article with more details about the five episode Flash crossover and the launch of the next seasons of shows.

Anyone know when they're going to start filming for S3?
Anyone know if Supergirl has already completed filming their final season?
Just wondering if there was any possible overlap that might make it possible for at least a cameo, maybe, on one show or the other...? ;)

I heard that the filming would start in late July.
Supergirl is still filming, as you can see on this new post:

The question is how long they will continue to film. I think it will be a close call....but perhaps....

Hmm....

I like the 5-episode, mini-crossover idea, altho, I wish it were another full-on cross-over extravaganza. But I'm guessing we're not likely to see another of those. So 5 episodes, 5 different mini-crossovers, so... Batwoman, Legends, Superman & Lois ...? Black Lightening? Diggle as Green Lantern? Green Arrow 2.0 & the Canaries?

One of those Flash crossovers could involve Naomi as it was ordered to series... although we don't know if she is part of Earth Prime or a different Earth, like Stargirl.

I don't think the move to Wednesday will help, ratings wise, but I don't think it will hurt either.

This new schedule also implies that Legends won't be a mid-season replacement this next season.

I wonder if the crossover will include the entire Bat Team, or just one or two people? Given it's a 5-episode arc, I'm guessing the latter. With Central City not being as dark as Gotham, I wonder how they'd react to Alice?!?

So far my Batwoman day was always Mondays (due to the time difference), so it will now switch to Thursdays.
Doesn't make much of a difference for me.
I hope this is good news as the weekend never was a good time for the CW as they were competing against the big networks. Don't know what the others will show on Wednesday, but I hope this move pays off.
I am a little annoyed that it runs after Legends of Tomorrow instead of before (like in season 1), but well, I guess there are not many that go to bed at 9 PM. ;)
More kind of a prestige thing...

The people that go to bed at 9pm are those that are still in elementary school. I assumed the reason for the swap is because Batwoman is a much darker, grittier show, whereas Legends is more light-hearted and campy, so the latter is more suitable for children and gets the earlier time slot.

I do wonder if Legends and Batwoman will get their seasons split up, as they are holding Kung Fu and it has been one of CW's stronger performers and improved its Wednesday numbers considerably by CW standards. I think the late start of CW's new schedule may have played in their favor. I wouldn't be surprised if CW rolls out a new schedule as early as January. I am now streaming CW next day, so like Siggi, I will be watching on Thursday... provided they keep Wallis Day around... and a little more Julia would be most welcomed.

It seems like each show is getting a turn at being a mid-season replacement. Not sure if that's a covid thing, or the CW is trying to keep people watching something all year long...???

But this week of all re-runs in the Arrowverse is irritating!

Superman & Lois was new and I really enjoyed it... we got the true identity of Captain Luthor. I think Flash was new, but I didn't watch... it no longer interests me.

Flash was a repeat this week. As was Legends and Kung Fu. I don't watch S&L - too much teen-boy angst. (And that includes Clark!)

So, I guess I should amend my previous statement - all the CW shows that I watch are repeats this week! ;)

As to Flash, the two storylines they've done so far this season have been better than the Mirrorverse story last season, and they didn't take up half a season each, so the plots aren't dragged out. And there's been a few interesting developments this season. I'm not as invested in the characters as I am with Kate and Alice, but I like Barry and most of the other characters, so still watchable for me.

Quite a perfect starting date for season 3.
I know someone who has his birthday on that day. :D
Ok, I won't be able to see it until the next day, but than I consider it a late birthday gift.

And now we have "only" a break of around 3,5 months, not too bad.

@athena69

I think Supergirl was wrapping filming episode 16 last week. There were some fun bts photos circulating. So probably 4 left to go.

I think timing would/should allow Melissa to appear in or possibly direct an episode of crossover, if that's even an option. Time wise, you would think filming should wrap on those 4 remaining SG episodes before filming is completed on the 5 Flash episodes, as that filming had not yet started.

Although no date has been announced, most likely, the Supergirl finale will air 11/9 (perhaps with back-to-back episodes?)... so it likely depends how they decide to end it in addition to Melissa's availability. She may be exhausted between Supergirl and mommy duties. I think it would be awesome if it worked out that way as we didn't get a big crossover during the Supergirl final season.

@CatPat

Having Melissa do a cameo on Batwoman or even Flash would be asking too much, all things considered. But having Kate and Barry show up in National City could be doable, I think. Even more so, perhaps, because they have NOT started filming their regular seasons, so Wallis and Grant may have some free time on their hands, right? Not likely that Kate would be showing up to help stop the villain at this point, since she doesn't have the batsuit back, or any other suit for that matter (yet?!?). But I'd be happy with at least one scene, even if it is in their non-hero personas, just to acknowledge their friendship and the end of an era. Kate could show off her new face, Barry could show off his new powers, and Kara could show off... whatever it is that's bringing the show to a end.
