Time to get a little active again here!
What do you guys expect from the BIG DC fandome event next week?

Here you can fix your own schedule so you know when to watch something you are interested in:
https://schedule.dcfandome.com/

regular site:
https://dcfandome.com/
-
Of course the Batwoman panel in the Watchverse is THE main attraction, no doubt!
It will have 40 minutes and the cast will discuss season 1 and give a sneak peek into season 2. I also expect that we see promo material of Javicia in the costume for the first time! :)
-
Besides that I am thrilled about the Wonder Woman 1984 panel and the "The Batman" panel (hope to finally see the Catwoman costume)!
And of course the other Arrowverse shows will have interesting panels as well.
I already made a schedule for the event.....well, I am sure I won't get much sleep in these 24 hours.
But damn.....I am THRILLED for it as we finally will get some info on season 2!

I found the DCFandome Batwoman panel to be... disappointing. The moderator's questions were not very thought-provoking, and, yeah, *some* kind of teaser other than just reiterating info that's already readily available would have been nice. Altho, I did gather that the mystery of Kate's disappearance was going to last thru to the end of the season. But, since they only just started filming, they probably don't have very many scripts already written, so maybe they don't yet know what all will be coming up. I have to wonder if Christina Wolfe wasn't on the panel because she wasn't available, or because she's not going to become a regular.

I'm with you, kdogg87, I've been biting my tongue, but at the risk of sounding racist, it seems like they're rebooting an established and beloved character just so they can jump on the "racially-aware" bandwagon. Also, Kate's actions in season 1 made me want to be more openly "out", and to me, a bisexual superhero just doesn't carry the same weight as a lesbian superhero, imho. I put ALL the blame on Berlanti for encouraging Carolyn to reboot Batwoman cuz he didn't think fans could handle "the elephant in the room". Seems to me he has a rather skewed opinion of the fans' maturity level. At this point, I think I may be watching the show just for Rachel and the Alice-Safiyah storyline.

- Christina Wolfe has already been made a regular, read about it last week or so ;)
- I wouldn't call it a reboot, one Batwoman gets replaced with another (temporarily), many things from season 1 wil get continued, more or less.....that's by far not a reboot
- And jumping to such conclusions because Javicia is black.....isn't ok in my eyes. Then you could say she only got the job because she is black. And that is....problematic....to say at least.

In the extended verison of the Legacy Of The Bat panel,Jim Lee revealed that plans are underway to introduce Ryan Wilder into the comics.

If this results in them discarding Kate in the comics as they have in the show, I'm gonna be pissed. I've been trying to be respectful in how I speak about my distaste for the direction they are moving, and give the new season a chance, but that would be the last straw for me.

If Kate and Ryan coexist in the comics, that's fine. But if Kate is killed, or written away and replaced, I will forever blame Ruby Rose and Berlanti for the roles they've played in destroying an icon that's meant so much to me for 14 years.

I agree,I would not want to lose Kate/Batwoman in the comics.I know she is appearing in upcoming issues of Batman,I believe. In the current Joker War storyline.

As far as bringing Ryan Wilder into the comics.I'm wondering if she could be introduced in the upcoming John Ridley Batman comic.Originally,Ridley was supposed to take over the monthly Batman comic following Batman # 100 as part of DC's 5G event where the 5th generation of heroes was supposed to take over the roles of Legacy heroes.

The current heroes like Superman(Clark Kent) ,Batman(Bruce Wayne),Wonder Woman(Diana Prince) were going to be aged up and a new generation was going to take over the roles.Jon Kent for example was going to become Superman. In Batman's case,Luke Fox was going to become Batman and the lead of John Ridley's Batman run post Batman # 100.

5G,atleast a planned is no longer happening following Dan Didio's firing as co-publisher at DC Comics and his ouster.

Elements of 5G however are being re-purposed.For example,a story in this weeks over-sized Detective Comic # 1027 is going to feature a story originally related to 5G.It was just announced for December a Generation Shattered One-Shot.And the original Generation Zero Free Comic Day issue that was supposed to kick all this off wasn't released as a standlone issue but added to the Flash Forward trade paperback.

Also John Ridley's Batman with Luke Fox as the new Batman is still happening but now as it's own four issue miniseries.Ridley is doing a story in the upcoming Joker War tie-in one shot called Joker War Zone that will tease/setup his new Batman series.

I wonder if Ryan Wilder might be introduced in this in some way.

@ kdogg87:
Yeah, sadly I must agree on the Fandome panel for the most part. I was very excited about the Batwoman panel in August. Then it was delayed 3 weeks to the new date. Ok, well, 3 more weeks to wait, no biggie. I hoped that they would produce some promo material in the meantime......
I mean it was interesting and fun to watch.....BUT....if you have such a panel with 40 minutes....you should present ANYTHING at all at the very end. A 30 second teaser ...or at least one promo image for season 2.
And all the talk was nice....but....no real news about season 2.

I watched several panels now and well, at least Batwoman is in good company.
The only panel with some exciting reveals was the Titans panel. And these reveals were even already in the shorter version that was presented 3 weeks ago....

Actually the "InsiderVerse" is nearly more interesting as there a lot of interesting videos.
Well, I saved a lot of them to watch on a later date.

Well, as the filming is running now for 9 days I hope we will get some news or promo material very soon. It is needed!
I hope for a teaser in early october at the latest and a trailer in early November.

Just watched the Batwoman panel, which is now On Demand over at the DC Fandome website.

There was nothing new to present. It was the cast talking about their past relationships in season 1 (minus Kate). Then there was a whole lot of talking up Javicia, without really talking about the show or where it's going. No teaser reel. No footage. No pictures. No costume reveal. No addressing the elephant in the room (Kate's absence) aside from what was already said. "She's disappeared".

I know I've been pretty negative since it was revealed they were ditching Kate. But I can't help but say it. After all the promotion for this Fandome event, the TV properties are really getting the shaft. If you just wanna hear the cast talk about their experiences in season 1, and talk up the new lead, then I guess it's worth a watch. But if you actually wanted to some insight into season 2, or some teases, or details...I'd pass on it. It's 40 minutes, and doesn't really give any info.

Is that Batwoman at 00:49?
My guess is it's probably Michael Keaton from the 1989 Batman movie, based on the blue eyes and the scowl of the cowl.

Looks different somehow.... the cowl is shapped different.
That clearly isn't Javicia under the cowl, is that old promo material from Ruby that they didn't use so far?
But why would they use that now? And why does the cowl look like that?

I'm completely confused right now.... :o :o :o

I hope we'll get some footage, but I'm not counting on it. These panels were all pre-recorded before the FIRST day of Fandome, so no filming had been done by that point. Since nothing had been filmed prior to that time, our "teaser" just might be archival footage...maybe not even that, since Ruby is out and Javicia is in.

I hope I'm wrong. It'd be cool if they squeezed in a super quick edit from the first week of filming. But that may not entail much. Maybe we'll get a look at Javicia's costume? Unsure.

I'll check out the panel but i'm honestly not expecting much.

It's for these reasons that I'm no longer broken up about Supergirl not having a panel. Based on the panel for The Flash, we're probably just missing out on some super vague teases, and a "sizzle reel" made up of last year's footage.

Yes, the panels were pre-recorded, but that doesn't mean they can't cut in some stuff they filmed later on ;)
I'm pretty sure that they are filming some promo material just to include in the panel these days.
They have to show something to motivate the fans, espceially in this situation.
And I would bet a large sum that we will see Javicia in costume.
Everything else would be a HUGE surprise for me.

The panel has 40 minutes. I think they will talk 20-25 minutes about season 1.
Then 10-15 minutes about season 2 with some reveals and then, at the very end they will show some filmed material to turn on the heat.

11 more days until the DC Fandome with the Batwoman panel! :)
Damn, I am so thrilled to finally get some more info and hopefully a teaser/trailer/whatever with some moving pictures!
And there will be some much interesting panels (check the "Insider Verse" as well!) that it will be pretty late when I finally will go to bed as the Fandome starts on 7PM here in germany.
And as the filming for season 2 starts THIS thursday....the time of little Batwoman news is finally OVER! :o :)

I signed up and checked out the offerings. I'm guessing these are going to be Zoom panels with the guests individually calling in. I couldn't find the Batwoman panel under "Hall of Heroes" at the times you listed, Siggi. :( It does appear under "Watchverse", which I assume is a collection of already filmed panels that will be available all day? I guess they changed the schedule.

Unfortunately, I'll be at work (or alseep!) for all but one of the Wonder Woman panels, and I'll miss the first part of it on account of my job. :(

*EDIT*
As news came just in.

If it was streaming on tv I'd probably have it up and running throughout the day and watch on and off... but, I'll just read about the panels. I am curious about Batwoman changes, but not at all excited about them. I will tune in to see, but I won't be excited about the changes until I see them and Caroline Dries sells me on them. I am still disturbed Batwoman will not be Kate Kane.

Wonder Woman 1984 interests me the most of the panels... I can't wait to see that movie. In hindsight, I bet everyone wishes they kept the original 2019 release date, as Patty Jenkins indicated the movie was release ready ahead of that original date.

No Supergirl panel, presumably due to Melissa's pregnancy and near delivery date.

I am excited about the news the event will likely generate but not watching it live.

I'm scheduled to work 10 hours that day, so not likely to catch anything good. :(

What times are the Batwoman and Wonder Woman panels?

Wonder Woman Panel is 1PM eastern (enore 9pm)
Batwoman 10.30PM eastern (encore, SUNDAY 11.15AM)

...if I have calculated these times from the time zone here in germany correctly ;)

Come on guys! No one? :o

I'm expecting maybe a new bat suit reveal. That's about it.
None of these shows have started filming, yet, so there isn't really going be much to reveal.

However, I also preface that with the not-so-secret fact that I'm one of the people not too excited about the new direction, replacing Kate Kane. So my excitement isn't all that hight.
