Especially Stephnie Beatriz gets named very often. She doesn't fit at all in my opinion (age, look, fitness).

@Siggi: You might consider updating your first article on potential Ruby Rose replacements with every single one of Peyton E. List's CW credentials, because they're really extensive.

If we're being technical, her Smallville and One Tree Hill appearances were for The WB Network, but it and The CW are essentially one and the same, so they still count.

Maybe they don't know the criteria, or maybe they just don't care and think it's not that important?

If it's true that the CW is looking for an alumni, that does not mean it has to be a recent alumni, or (especially) someone from within the Arrowverse. After all, Rachel Skarsten is an alumni from 18 years ago! Technically, yes, in the Arrowverse, but from an alternate earth, and they did establish that the same person can show up as different people on different earths, so we have a precedence. I think y'all should consider casting your nets a bit wider. The cwseed.com lists 47 retired shows. There's a lot of potential there. Maybe it doesn't have to be a CW alumni, but certainly someone who's been a regular on more than one TV show. And, has some fight training.

I'm also going to throw out that I know they want someone from the LGBTQ+ community, I think what they really mean/need is someone who is openly gay already. None of this, she dated a guy in the past, and oh, look, this awesome role that would be fabulous for her career is just opened, so now suddenly "it was a mistake, I'm really a lesbian" or "even tho I've never dated a girl, I'm really bi-sexual". No. Personally, I think she should be specifically a lesbian, not bi, because that opens it up too much for arguments by those that don't understand to assume that bisexual means "she's just experimenting, but they'll have her marry a guy at some point before the end of the show's run". By all means, have a bisexual character on the show (Julia is a prime candidate), but not Kate.

I really don't think Peyton could (or should) be considered since she already has an established role in the current Arrowverse. And her sexuality is presumed hetero, but certainly not openly lez/bi.

As for Wallis, she is vegan (as is Ruby, and why they made Kate vegan), so there's a plus. She's a Virgo, so she should get along with Rachel and Megan (couldn't find birthdates for the others). Apparently, she's out as bisexual. I think she looks a lot like a young Helen Slater, which I'm guessing she apparently get told a lot, cuz she's wearing a Superman t-shirt in her FB cover photo. I agree she has the right look, but I think she also looks too young.

But my guess is that Caroline and team are likely considering a lot of actresses that we don't even know about!

@@athena69 Wallis Day's sexual orientation isnt, as far as I could determine, publicly known. I had identified her as being bisexual, but discovered that I had confused her IRL sexual orientation with the sexual orientation of her Krypton character Nyssa Vex-El.

And the rumor isn't just that they're looking for someone who has previously appeared on The CW, but that they're looking for someone who has appeared on the network "frequently" (IOW, "regularly" or "often" ) .

With starring, recurring, or guest appearances on 7 different CW series stretching back to 2005, Peyton E. List is the one actress who fits said rumor almost to a 'T'.

Wallis is wearing a Superman shirt likely because she starred in the Superman prequel Krypton for two seasons on SyFy... Superman's [and possibly's Supergirl's] grandmother... she was my favorite on the show. I think she could hold her own against the fabulous Rachel Skarsten.

Since the producers have said they will be seeking an actress from the LGBTQ community, I do think that the actress from the LGBTQ community should be one that has been open about her LGBTQ status and not someone believed to be straight and suddenly announces they are bisexual/ pansexual for the part.

The suspense is killing me but I trust the folks behind the show. They have accomplished great things throught season 1.

The thing that might be holding up Peyton E. List being confirmed as the new Kate Kane may be her recurring role on the CBS All Access Original Star Trek Picard.

I suspect if Peyton is selected, there will be some backlash as she apparently came out as bisexual in 2017. I suspect many will feel a lesbian should be cast. I remember the backlash from within the LGBTQ community when Ruby made a non binary remark. I could be wrong and I do hope the new Kate is given a fair chance by fans.

Now, some fans are pondering if they may kill Kate and let Sophie take on the mantel... I do not like that idea at all... so fingers crossed they don't go that route.

Yeah, it's completely bizarre ideas like that that I read a lot too the last days. Really weird explanations and storylines included.
But I'm 99% sure that they will just exahnge the actress and pretend that nothing has happened.

You're talking about the wrong Peyton List.

It's easy to get confused because the two actresses have the same name, but the Peyton List in question here is Peyton Elizabeth List, and information about her sexual orientation isn't publicly available.

Oh, ok... I thought it was this one. I can't see them casting her if she isn't openly out. But she does have the right look. I didn't realize she played a Vulcan on Picard.

Her character is apparently supposed to have a big role to play in Picard Season 2, which could potentially create scheduling conflicts if she is indeed the person the Batwoman producers want as the new Kate Kane.

I need to go back and rewatch the Picard episodes she was on.

Only one week since Ruby left the show but to not know who will be the new Batwoman....drives me crazy.
I hope they will announce it in the next weeks.

Oddly, I can't recall ever seeing Jade smile on the Magicians, unless it was for one of the musical episodes.

I think its still just a rumor that they have a CW actress in mind. I mean it makes since that they have an actress they previously worked with in mind... thats how we got Grant and Melissa (both worked with Berlanti on Glee), but that hasn't been confirmed. The only thing we know if tgat it will be someone from LGBTQ community.
