I just finished watching the first season of Krypton. I have to say, I wasn't terribly impressed. Overall, the writing wasn't very good, and the plot and characters were pretty predictable. I find it hard to believe that a society that technologically advanced would 1) not know about extraterrestrial life, much less not believe other lifeforms exist, and 2) still be that deeply entrenched in religious clap-trap (then again, it might have been some troll who oozed his way into power and slowly turned his society into a dictatorship). I tried to like it, but didn't really connect with any of the characters. Seg was the typical brooding hero-wanna-be, with the obligatory comedic best friend. The rest of the character were just as cookie-cutter. I wasn't able to get much of a feel for Wallis Day as her character didn't feature very prominently until toward the end, but liked most of what we saw of her.

Is season two any better? I'm guessing not, since the show was cancelled.

I was wondering if anyone had any feedback/recommendations regarding other DCU shows/movies? (I'm running out of stuff to put in my Netflix queue!)

Yeah, read about that new Gotham PD show as well.
And DC show is welcome for me, especially when is plays in Gotham.
The corrupt police force was already a theme in "Gotham" the TV show were Gordon was the lead character more or less. I wonder how this new show will be.
Looking forward to details!

I pretty much watch all the DC live action shows.Even if I don't have the streaming service,I get the blu rays.I'm currently watching Stargirl and Doom Patrol Season 2.My copy of Pennyworth Season 1 on Blu Ray just came in yesterday.

I would check out season 2 of Krypton. There was some good twists and had a tighter storyline IMO.

Actually some big DC T.V news just broke today.

A new Gotham T.V. series for HBO MAX was just ordered to series. The show will forcus on the Gotham PD and be set in the same universe as the upcoming movie,"The Batman" starring Robert Pattinson Matt Reeves(writer/director of The Batman) and Terence Winter(creator of Boardwalk Empire) are producing.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/batman-tv-spinoff-matt-reeves-terence-winter-set-at-hbo-max-1302540?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

HBO Max says the series will be "set in the world Reeves is creating for The Batman feature film and will build upon the motion picture’s examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City, ultimately launching a new Batman universe across multiple platforms. The series provides an unprecedented opportunity to extend the world established in the movie and further explore the myriad of compelling and complex characters of Gotham."

Kind of cool all these live action Bat related shows the last few years.

Gotham(2014-2019)
Titans(2018-) Dick Grayson is the lead character.
Pennyworth(2019- )
Batwoman(2019-)

@Athena69

Yes, Dinah was the weak link on Birds of Prey. But, I am amazed by Rachel's performance as Alice.

@Siggi

I really enjoyed Pennyworth. I can't wait for season 2. Sone of the same people behind Gotham worked on it. Gotham was a steady favorite of mine during its 5 year run.

As much as I support buying actual physical copies of movies and TV shows...I can't support buying DVDs ;)
Come on, this technology 20 years old.
Blu-rays are so much better....off course only if your TV isn't stone old...

I watched and enjoyed:
the Swamp Thing
Gotham
Pennyworth
the other Arrowverse shows
Birds of Prey
Smallville

I didn't like Doom Patrol....after 2 or 3 episodes I thought it was way too.....weird and insane....and boring as hell at the same time, and I'm normally easy to entertain.
But many seem to like that show. A great mystery to me.

I thought about watching Krypton but haven't yet.
If Wallis Day gets into the Batwoman costume....I will start watching immediately.

I have the Birds of Prey season on DVD. :) I was surprised when I realized it was the same woman. I remember being mostly annoyed by the character of Dinah Lance. Maybe I'll go back and re-watch it.

Haven't heard of The Boys... alas, Netflix does not have the DVDs in house, yet. (Yeah, I'm old school - I still get the DVD's, instead of streaming.) Thanks for the tip.

Season 2 of Krypton does introduce Lobo. But, if you didn't like season 1, i can't see you liking season 2.

Have you seen The Boys? Its not DC, but its interesting. Also, not sure if you watched the old Birds of Prey, but its interesting seeing how much Rachel Skarsten has grown as an actress since then...
