@Athena69 I will be keeping an eye out to see if/when Kate does return, but as much as I love Alice, it's not worth it for me to put up with Ryan as the lead to watch the show until then.

Same here. I don't have the bandwidth to put up with another roller coaster ride of a season. If they don't reverse course and work Kate back in, then I will not waste my time watching. If they want this to be the Ryan Wilder show, then give us a Kate spinoff. I signed up for Kate Kane, a character I invested in long ago.

Superhero 101, the secret identity is just as important as the alter ego. Why bother bringing an iconic character to the screen and then toss them to the side?

Dries clearly doesn't understand how important the character of Kate Kane is to fans. You just don't replace them. I, for one, am not looking for just any girl in a cool suit.

I feared they were setting up Dougray's exit a few episodes back. I think/wish that were not the case as I would have liked to have had at least one more season for him to reconnect with his 3 daughters. Parents on CW shows are often amoungst the first to go.

Dries really screwed over Kate Kane fans if this is it. While she said, I would never say never because you never know, but for now, that was our farewell to Kate, she blew an opportunity. First she said they would recast Kate, then she decided she'd replace Kate with Ryan, then she decided to recast Kate only to write her off. Very disappointing and an unsatisfying end to season 2.

Glad Joe West is still around on The Flash.Henry, not so lucky.

Since Black Lightning was the parent(but his dad was killed as a child),he made it through the whole series.Even though Superman & Lois are the parents, they are the stars and I doubt are going anywhere.Sam Lane could be another story.

Kara and Alex atleast still have Eliza. And hey,Kara has actually got both her biological parents back too(assuming Argo is still around post Crisis).

I actually do think Wallis Day will be back next season but maybe not until the back half of season 3.

Poor Maura Queen went too soon. Joe West is an exception. Kara's parents exist mostly offscreen. I really liked the Phantom Zone arc, a little Kara went a long way... quite a clever way to work in her maternity leave... but c'mon not one person thought to consult Alura? Then no Eliza when they returned to Midvale? Parents are mostly afterthoughts at the CW... I think Jacob needed a better sendoff... resolve his legal woes, get Beth a psyche eval and good attorney to get her out of Arkham and then leave to travel the world or something.

I hope Caroline Dries waffles yet again and realize the asset Wallis Day is and up her to regular...

My guess is that a couple of times during S3, they tell us that Luke or Mary got a text message or email from Kate. Maybe even that she re-connected with Julia! (Crows was an international organization, which means Julia's unemployed now, too, so...???) I will be keeping an eye out to see if/when Kate does return, but as much as I love Alice, it's not worth it for me to put up with Ryan as the lead to watch the show until then.

Curious that they announce his leaving right after the season finale, just like Ruby... But yeah, that was a sucky way to write off a main character - where's the closure? Is he going to rot in jail in Metropolis? Is he going to be freed and go help Kate find Bruce? WTF?

After reading these articles, I've come to the conclusion that Caroline's idea of a "satisfactory" story-line is very different from mine! Here's to Waffles!!!
