Batwoman is renewed for a second season:

Excellent news! Provided it stays consistent with what we've seen so far in Season 1, it should be well worth watching.

I already celebrated with a good whisky yesterday!
Kind of a surprise for me that ALL CW superhero shows got renewed. Even Legends of Tomorrow was renewed for season 6....before their season 5 even started!
You can like the CW or not, but it is really a good partner for these superhero shows, not ONE...not ONE of these superhero shows... got cancelled ....ever!!!!
Arrow only ended because of Stephen Amell had enough after 8 seasons.
The CW is the perfect home for Batwoman

@ Siggi;
The reason CW superhero shows don't get cancelled easily (if at all) on the CW is because of the new way viewers consume media (On-demand, streaming, delayed viewings, Live+3 and Live+7, International market viewership metrics, etc.). If this show and others was on a traditional ratings-driven network (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX in the U.S.) it and most others would not be picked up for a second or third season but thankfully, the CW doesn't rely on this immediate raw viewership numbers (Neilsen ratings) mindset.
This, plus the fact that Berlanti's studio just negotiated / finalised a $300-million USD deal last year to develop shows on all media platforms means that the crop of shows we have plus newer ones in the pipeline, regardless of traditional ratings, will likely still have seasons ordered (some for full season and others for shorter ones).

^ Yeah, I heard that the CW thankfully does care about more than just the normal viewership numbers.
Thanks for some details on that!
And as Batwoman is still the 2nd successfull show on the CW (in terms of ratings ....after the Flash) I didn't had much doubt about a 2nd season.
But I am very relieved that it is now official.
And I am very happy that the trolls didn't get what they wanted!

Yes, thank you Romulus for that info - I didn't know any of that, so, Yay! CW!
I don't have television, much less cable, so I very much appreciate that Batwoman (and recent episodes of all the other shows) are available for free streaming. I've watched every episode at least four time each now. I can see where this model will definitely make a difference to a show's viewership - the number of times an episode is streamed speaks much louder than a hateful troll on social media!
