“General”:
My highlights from this episode (without particular order):
1 – Julia + Alice! I enjoyed the scenes they had together BIG time! It was just great how they were both teasing each other starting with Alice naming her Pennydreadful instead of Pennyworth  . But Julia landed quite some hits on Alice as well as she analyzed her really well. It did make a lot of sense for them to team up against Enigma/Evelyn as she is a common enemy of both now. For a second I thought about they developing some feelings for each other.....but well, after all, Julia is too much shocked about Alice's actions, so I don't think there is a "chance" for them.
2 – A lot of......Jacob! If you count all the scenes with Jacob....you come to the conclusion that he has a BIG role in this episode. Hard to say, but maybe this was even the episode with the most screentime with him? I like that he gets such a big part for a change. I will write about all his scenes below, as it's too much to put that into one section.
3 – Black Mask/Roman! It was a smart move for him as he wants to get Jacob hocked up on Snakebyte. As Black Mask he had him attacked and chloroformed so that he would get his first dose. Now as Roman he delivers him another dose, exactly knowing that Jacob couldn't resist taking that strong drug. As Roman Sionis, he is playing the law-abiding citizen who wants to help the Crows, as Black Mask, he had another strong scene as he killed some more men that failed him. Sometimes I wonder how he finds new gang members as he kills so many himself  . The line with the "platinum card" was funny ;-)
4 – Batwoman and her war against Snakebyte! It was a strong opening showing Batwoman in action against the drug distribution centers and having that field reporter telling the story about how successful her actions were so far. It showed her strong determination to bring down Black Mask and his drug.
5 – The prison director and his idea of supporting his prisons! A really twisted idea to attack these community centers with convicts of his prison. But yeah, he profits big time from the shutdown of these centers. What a highly anti-social dude....
6 - The new Community center! It's good that the Bat team has another project on how they can help the city. It was funny how Jordan was speaking about how "their secret is safe with her". A fun scene, I really enjoy how the writers include gags like this in the episodes. Also, it was an interesting aspect that Ryan seemingly will soon give martial arts classes again. I always thought it would be cool if she would do that again after we heard that fact about her past.
7 - Alice in the office! Oh man, that was so great! How she was strolling around the office, liking at that spoon, using that tissue just to put it back into the tissue box  . Alice is often so incredibly funny. And she didn't do many evil things lately.... The scene where she was listening to her father's recording was a strong, emotional one.

Aspects I didn't like in this episode:
>>> At first I had a little "problem" accepting that new energy weapon. But ok, we have seen some fancy high-tech weapons already, and it's not that unrealistic ....I guess. What was more problematic for me is the way it works. The henchman in the street shot the reporter and Batwoman with the same blast. They stood very close together, so I had no big problem with it. But as Luke saves Batwoman in the end he shots all three of them with one blast. How does that work? They were standing some feet apart from each other. How do you make the weapon hit all three? For that, the weapon would need some system that could detect all enemies in front of it. Well, maybe I'm overthinking it.... On the other hand, it was really nice to have Luke in an action scene.
>>> In my review for the last episode, I mentioned that Batwoman would need more weapons to take down multiple enemies. That problem showed again in this episode! Again Batwoman needed to be saved by someone. Luke quickly needs to do something about it. Surely the enemies had these fancy blasters....but I think that Batwoman needs more options in her weaponry...or a sidekick in the field ;-). In terms of ranged weapons, Batwoman needs just more than some Batarangs....

More interesting aspects for me:
--- The Crows need to beef up the security in their own parking garage big time! And Jacob needs to improve in his "anti-kidnapping/knockout" skills  . Hard to keep track of how often he was knocked out and/or kidnapped.
--- I like the alternate version where Jacob manages to free Beth from evil Cartwright! A nice move to start with a "replay" of him arriving there.
--- The scenes with Ryan and Angelique in that prison were interesting. Angelique has luckily changed for the better, I begin to really like her! It was funny how she is jealous of Batwoman who might become Ryan's new girlfriend ;-) . Well, sooner or later she will find out how is behind that mask....that should be an interesting reveal!
--- The scene with Batwoman and the newspaper reporter was a good action scene and it was good that Batwoman could handle him without too much problems. But again, a strong(er) ranged weapon would be really helpful for her. Come on Luke! ;-)
--- Glad that the underground clinic is seemingly open again, hopefully in the long run. It just fits perfectly to Mary and gives as she can bring in her skills there really good. She just needs that clinic to be the best version of herself.
--- I was expecting that the energy weapon would fire in the Batcave, which would have been another "clumsy Luke" moment. It was a nice twist that it didn't....an unexpected twist :-)
--- Julia seemingly underestimated Enigma's abilities to defend herself. That was a sneaky attack! Right now it's hard to say how badly that affects Julia. But it seems that she (again) lost some important memories. I hope she won't be off the show for long now as I really like her. Hopefully, she quickly realizes that Enigma made her lose some memories.
--- The action scene with Batwoman and the evil prison director started really well! I especially liked how she used the grapple gun to escape the blasts from that energy weapons. That was a great stunt scene and a good action shot!
--- Jacob is really in a dark place now! Kate is dead (to his knowledge), Alice still on the run, Mary hates him for closing up the clinic....and now he is even addicted to Snakebyte. He was never a happy character....but damn, he has hit a new low point. Will be interesting to see how he will recover!
--- As soon they showed Ryan calling Angelique and they showed Angelique in that car...I was quite sure that something bad would happen. The episode wouldn't end with Angelique driving off to safety. ;-) - I wonder how Batwoman will save her now? If I would be Black Mask...I would get rid of Angelique really quickly......or.....use her as bait to attract Batwoman ;-)
