“General”:
My highlights from this episode (without particular order):

1 – Mary and Jacob! They really had a lot of screentime together in this one, even it wasn't in good circumstances. But finally, Jacob learned about Mary's underground clinic. And of course, he wasn't happy about it and want to shut it down. On the one hand, I can understand him as he made good points about why she shouldn't do it. On the other hand, I can totally understand Mary as she wanna help those who can't afford to get help in a real hospital. After all, she often saves people from really bad conditions. So in the end, I think she should go on with it....even it will be difficult as Jacob is now aware of her intentions. In the end, Mary is disappointed again that he doesn't support her in her way to help the people. Mary is again let down by others...

2 – Batwoman VS common thugs! I do like that we now get much more scenes where Batwoman is beating up some random thugs. In season 1 they barely showed Batwoman 1.0 battling these common thugs. After all, this is just a normal day business for a vigilante. A vigilante doesn't have only "boss fights" all the time. So I do like to see these scenes! And yeah, always good to see Batwoman in action!

3 – Sophie and Ryan! They have a troubled past as Sophie arrested her sometimes. But I feel there is something building up here. Last episode Sophie learned that Ryan is into girls. She witnessed how Ryan and Angelique had that fight. I think that Sophie is developing feelings for her ;-) . So far, it doesn't look like Ryan has much sympathy for Sophie, but I think that will develop as well..... It was a nice little pun as Ryan called Sophie "Crowphie" :-) . Also, Batwoman saved Sophie from the doctor. Not that Sophie falls again in love with Batwoman ;-)

4 – Who is that doctor and for who is he working? Now we have a new "player" in the race to get to Coryana. So we have now 4 "teams" that wanna get there to get their hands on the desert rose. Alice+Ocean, Team Batwoman, the Crows + the doctor and his boss. With these masks, it seems like he could work for Black Mask as well. But how does Black Mask knows about the Desert Rose? Will be interesting to find out more about it. Hope he shows up soon!

5 – Luke realizes what Ryan was going through with her Kryptonite wound! Finally Luke learned about her injury and he thereby realized how difficult it was for Ryan to fight as Batwoman. So he should now finally appreciate her effort as Batwoman much more....it was about time!

6 - Alice and Ocean! They really have good chemistry and I enjoy how they slowly finding out more about their common past on that island. It was nice how their fight was interwoven with their fight training on that island. I think they will become a couple. But I hope for Ocean that he won't meet the same fate as Mouse. In the end, I don't see Alice in a long-term relationship. She is just too crazy ;-)

Aspects I didn't like in this episode:

>>> There isn't really much in that category. Ok, I think it was a little over the top how the crazy guy captured Mary and Jacob. He could have achieved that much easier. And it was quite dangerous, after all, he wanted them alive. But it was a neat action scene for sure.

-----------

More interesting aspects for me:

--- I wasn't surprised that the "cure it all" stuff wasn't reproducible. That would have made things too easy and would have made the race to get to Coryana pretty much obsolete.

--- In season 1 Batwoman unmasked herself three times(?) as she was in great peril or stress (Kate had panic attacks at some point). Here Batwoman 2.0 now unmasks herself too as her pain is overwhelming her. I can understand that to a certain degree....even I do hold my breath each time as it is quite dangerous to do that. What does she do when someone sees her unmasked face and perhaps even takes a quick picture? Then her vigilante career is very much in jeopardy! The fight scene before was pretty cool and like how the camera was pulling upwards and away from her as she stood there unmasked.

--- It was a good statement that Ryan couldn't afford medical treatment in the hospital as her insurance wasn't covering it. Here in my country (and many others), we shake our heads how that is such a big deal in the USA that people can't get the treatment they need if they can't afford it because of their crappy insurance or their non-existing insurance.

--- At first, I was thinking the crazy dude was overplaying it a little bit. But after the revelations about how he was a lab rat and how critical his condition really is, I am ok with that. With all his issues he is just not a "regular" crazy guy

--- I think it was worth a try that Ryan tried to pull Angelique into a legal life. Also, I think she made the right call to work with Sophie. Yeah, that lead to a breakup (for now?) but it also saved Angelique from getting caught with her drug dealing. And I don't think Angelique might become dangerous to both Ryan and Batwoman, so Ryan should stay away from her, even Angelique is her anchor as Ryan has no one else who she can fully trust.

--- I really like the snippy line from that doctor who was talking to Ryan on the phone about her being radiated: "...unless you took selfies in Tschernobyl"

--- My other favorite line from this episode was from Alice: "...we are in the middle of something" as Sophie entered the scene and saw Alice sitting on top of Ocean

--- The end twist with Alice seemingly killing Ocean was nice, even I thought pretty quickly that this wasn't the real one. So I guess these two killed some poor guy so that Alice could put a mask on him. Damn, she did it again ;-)

--- It was now the fourth episode in a row without Julia. If she really is a season regular in this one....she must return to it rather quickly. I wonder what she is doing the whole time? Well, perhaps she is onto something in the meantime and thereby saves the day later on.

4 out of 5 – A strong episode with interesting storylines! Not much Batwoman in it, but that's understandable. Can't wait for how they continue the storylines in the next episodes!
