They changed the cowl (mask):

https://canadagraphs.weebly.com/batwoman-blog/ruby-rose-suits-up-as-batwoman-for-the-1st-time-publicly-in-vancouver-episode-104-scenes

It looks like a more simple design, but maybe the other one was a bit busy. Interesting that they changed it.

Yeah, some aspects have changed, I guess changes for a little more comfort?
I'm sure they now had more time and already had some experiences with the cowl from the crossover.
So, it evolves.
Other changes may affect the belt the the "hook" at the lower arm:

But perhaps the hooks just weren't in action back then.

Looks good on her! It "suits" her, so to speak.

The cowl change is more reflective of the suit design modifications to take her away from the more masculine, clunky Batman look. The cowl change is in line with the comic book version of the character. At least they got that part correct. :)

In profile it is more comics accurate. Although the cowl in the comics varies too, depending on the artist, but this does seem closer to how she looks on page.

They've cut-down on the amount of forehead too, with the hairline lower - also mostly more comics accurate, (except for the artists that like to make the cowl extra big).

Until we see how it looks on screen it's hard to tell, but this version looks less angry than the previous version, as far as mask expression goes.

Profile is great, not sure about how the ears look front-on. I'm so used to the Elseworlds look, the change has made me uncomfortable until I adjust. :)

I think maybe in episode 3 or 4 her cowl gets broken, and Luke makes her a new one.

I do like the bigger belt - Batwoman has to have somewhere to store all those gadgets we want to see her use.

You can see the change in the new Key Art as well. I bet its much more comfortable and reasonable now
You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

I expect that it will probably change a little more as the series goes on. For comfort, for design aesthetics, for practicality, budget, etc. Additionally, Kane wants the suit to be hers and not Batman’s old suit. She has it changed and modified as she becomes and develops as a hero. Stands to reason that, even if it wasn’t the intention of the costume designers, the suit in the show would also progress to reflect that.

On 01:26 the interesting part for this topic starts.
There is tape in her cowl? Why? Isn't it fixed just because it goes around the whole head? Or does the cowl (like in the comics) is just on her face (and not around the whole head).
The wig covers a lot. Would love to know!
-
And she was allergic to the tape? Hmh.... maybe that was the reason for the little redesign?
-
I also wonder if the redesign will be embedded in the show. Perhaps Luke had to do these changes for some reasons.

Redesign would indeed be due to allergic reaction. My guess is the cowls for the actors (Batwoman, Flash etc) would be in two pieces or more so they can get them on and off actors without too much struggle.

Nice look at the cowl:
Batwoman2019_NewCowl1.jpg

Bigger eye-holes, maybe to do with comfort and avoiding allergy?
Overall, I think this version looks better anyway.

I wonder what the in-universe explanation will be for the change.

Well, seeing the new trailer (yes, it was finallllly released!)....I am wondering IF the version from the promo pictures and teaser has made it to the TV show at all?
That version isn't in the new trailer.

It looks like the new cowl in the trailer to me. :)
