If You Believe In Me, I’ll Believe in You Recap

Quarantine is bearable now that we have brand new episodes of Batwoman again. Unfortunately new episodes are in rare supply. After tonight, there are only two episodes left this season. So much centers around Lucius Fox's diary. Just about all the secrets Wayne Tech has are recorded in that journal and now that Kate is armed with the knowledge that Tommy Elliot orchestrated the hit on Lucius she can hopefully hunt down that journal, before it falls into the wrong hands.

  1. Lucius' Diary: Kate is back in her full Batwoman form! She takes down a human trafficker and frees the victims. Mary is there at the Tower to help celebrate but realizes she isn't regarded as a member of team Batwoman. She makes a passing comment that the cowl should be electrified so that it can't be forcibly removed. Mary exits but Luke does mention it could be a good idea. Sophie and Julia are investigating Tommy Elliot's properties to try and find the diary. Kate heads to Arkham to confront Tommy. He doesn't give up any information but Alice and Mouse are able to cut a deal with him for the diary. Kate and Luke are able to track the call and discover the location of the diary. It's in a club owned by a mobster.
  2. Clubbing: Kate and Julia get dressed for the club. Kate learns that Julia and Sophie are kind of a thing and she is hurt. Once they get to the top floor, Kate runs back into Regan. Regan tells Kate that she feels bad for leaving and might want to get back with Kate. Kate is there to do a job though so Julia hits the lights and Batwoman starts walking through the crowd using her night vision. Turns out this was a trap and Batwoman is caught. Both Julia and Kate are captured.
  3. Tommy Elliot is Dead?: Alice holds up her end of the deal and makes Tommy look dead by using his face. Now Tommy is dead in the eyes of the world but actually has no face (very similar to the Hush storyline). Now captured, the mob looks into Julia to see if someone will pay for her ransom, additionally, they are going to auction off the death of Batwoman to other mobsters. The mobster decides that the journal must be worth more if Batwoman was going to come for it. He tells Tommy he's keeping it. That is why Alice and Mouse released Magpie to get it for them.
  4. Mary to the Rescue: Mary has convinced Luke that she can help. She heads to the club to buy Batwoman's freedom. Jacob hears that Tommy Elliot hanged himself and he goes to Arkham to ask Alice about it. The conversation quickly heads to talk about betrayal. Alice asks to be freed but Jacob says he has to protect the one daughter he has left. Mary is able to bid successfully for the suit but it doesn't save Kate. The Mob says they'll let her buy the suit after they kill Batwoman.
  5. Escape: Mary hid a flash-bang grenade in her money bags and Luke remote detonates. This gives her enough time to get Batwoman free. Batwoman kicks all the mobsters' butts. Then Batwoman has to go up against Magpie for the diary. Julia also uses the distraction to escape. in the end, Batwoman does get the upper hand and gets the diary from Magpie.

In the final wrap up moments, Kate apologizes to Mary for keeping her at arms length. Kate finally allows Mary onto the team and she notes she'll meet her back at the Bat-cave. Regan catches up with Kate and the two head to Kate's bar and hook up. Luke takes Mary down to see the Bat-cave finally as well. Her first instinct is to take a photo of herself in the cave and Luke has to quickly stop her. She then realizes that Bruce Wayne is Batman! The next morning, Regan looks to abscond with Lucius' diary. We then discover that Regan is actually Magpie's sister and now Alice will have her hand on the diary. We then discover that even Julia is working for someone to get the diary. The only thing protecting Kate now is the fact that Lucius wrote the journal in code.

I think we know why the gallery was sparse for "A Secret Kept...", they were keeping Hush under wraps.
