Batwing to the rescue! Last Sunday's episode of Batwoman was seriously shocking and has put all the power into Black Mask's hands. He has Kate acting as his daughter, she has the Batsuit and seems to have corrupted it into her own bizarro backwards Batwoman suit. The False Face society also has all the tools that Batman had confiscated from Gotham's worst criminals and from the preview for this Sunday's season finale, it looks like he is making his own Bane! But, with all things looking to doom Gotham, we still have Luke's debut as Batwing to help save the day and in this new gallery of images from the season finale, it looks like Batwing is the hero we need!

Basically, per Dries, with the Crows disbanded and Kate leaving, his role simply played out.
It wasn't a good send off. His fate was left hanging. I am not sure what he was charged with specifically... aiding and abetting Alice? I guess Mary will make some off-handed comment about it in S3 or something.
Unless an about face is done, I definitely will not be watching. No Kate, no thanks. Such a wasted opportunity and betrayal to fans.
I have to wonder if Dougray's leaving had anything to do with why they wrote Kate out of the show? Maybe the thought of Alice being the last Kane standing in Gotham had appeal? Surely, the excuse they come up with for his not returning is NOT because he stays in jail?!? And going walk-about to "find" himself after the Crows fiasco doesn't seem in character. But, who knows, maybe his snakebite binge had a more profound effect. Altho, you'd think at this point, he'd want nothing more than to help Alice recover. They could just do a quick and dirty - he dies (car accident?) while on the way back to Gotham...?
It's a shame we didn't get resolution or better closure for Jacob as we now know he is exiting the cast. I wonder if he is open to a guest appearance? It would be cool if after his trial in Metropolis, provided charges aren't dropped, he returns to Gotham to hire Beth an attorney and psychiatrist/therapist to help her heal and eventually get out of Arkham and say his goodbyes. Then maybe he could head back to Metropolis or places unknown.
Drat, I was hoping for a new spoiler. Or at least a photo we hadn't already seen.
Speaking of photos, since the promo photo is specifically for this episode, I wonder if that means Jacob will be out of jail before the end of the episode?

No, I'm not on the payroll.
And again, season 2 isn't the first season that always has more viewers. Plus all the other factors.....I mentioned.
Whatever.... tomorrow we get the first real Season finale since the first had only that improvised one.
And yeah, I hope season 3 will be better as well....with the difference that I like season 2 very much (so far).
Curious, are you on payroll?
Well, it has fallen below other shows it was ahead of last season... not just the new ones.
My statements were/are accurate, so arguing really doesn't change anything. Number are still lower than expected. Sorry they don't support your desired narrative.
My hope is season 3 is better.
Well, among the shows that are now above Batwoman are a lot of new shows like Superman&Lois, Kung Fu, and Walker. Plus Batwoman was the big new show last season.
It's still above Black Lightning and Legends of Tomorrow (even running after LoT on Sundays they had slightly better numbers than that....show. Supergirl may end up above Batwoman this season even the average of Supergirl will most likely sink until the end of the season.
Will be interesting to see how the numbers will change in season 3. As the TV numbers are going down each year....it would already be a big success if the show could hold the current numbers.
Kate & Beth: The Red Twins... I really like it!
I totally agree. Kate Kane is not a disposable/replaceable character and just about every message board that covered Batwoman showed that the overwhelming majority supported the recast of Kate Kane over the replacement of the character. They just ignored fans on the matter. While I get Dries desire to make the transition to a new actress feel more organic and less soap opera trope, she made the handover of the batsuit to a new unknown character feel like her permanent solution and seemingly ignored why fans were fans in the first place. I think that was a mistake.
I also agree that Kate Kane cannot be reduced to a crazed maniac for the long term. I am good with a temporary arc of mayhem with a splash of depravity, but we don't need Alice 2.0, we need Kate back. In the interim, a Red Hood like arc could be really fun and entertaining. I like the prospects.
Netflix gets the CW shows approximately 30 days after their seasons conclude on the linear network/platform. Batwoman was not acquired by Netflix, as it went to HBO Max. Moving forward most new CW shows will likely stay in-house and go to either HBO Max, if produced by WB, or Paramount +, if produced by CBS. Neither appear to be generating Netflix level boosts yet, but may eventually.
