Will Kate Kane still be the Batwoman in season 2???

Well, that sounds that Kate Kane doesn't die and rather disappears for some reason!

Whew! What a relief! There's still hope! Well, that's partial good news at least.
Altho, I don't understand why they don't just recast this season - but, hopefully, they'll bring her back later in season 2 and not wait til season 3 (or later).

It's such a disappointing turn of events to lose Ruby Rose as Batwoman. I don't know what season 2 will hold, but with all of the speculation about the characters/actresses, etc. I feel as though I'm losing my enthusiasm for the show. Like I may have said here and there all these speculations driving me crazy right now. More and more rumors.
I need some facts to have an idea of season 2.
I hope they announce the new Batwoman really soon.
And yeah, right now it's a lot of chaos I agree. I would have really prefered that they deliver some answers after Ruby left and the new Ryan Wilder casting sheet popped up.
I guess they are not 100% determined on a storyline just yet, and are leaving some back doors open.
For example the fate of Kate Kane: Even if she gets killed in the first new episode....perhaps there is still another version of her on another earth. As I understand it there isn't just earth prime left.

I think Caroline Dries did a FANTASTIC JOB with Season 1 and respect her tremendously. I just want to drive home how impassioned fans are about Kate Kane and that we respect that Ruby left and can accept the recast. I won't see a white elephant. We the fans still overwhelmingly want Kate Kane as Batwoman. As Vancouver has yet to reopen, nothing has been committed to film. Anything is still possible.

I am 100% down for a new Dynamic Duo, as long as Kate keeps the cowl.

But... at the end of the day, I will give season 2 the open-minded opportunity Caroline has earned with whatever direction she takes the show.

Based on the details, I'd say Natalie created the separate channel/account/whatever, because she'd did not want it on her main channel, and a fan found it by accident.

Yeah could be, but why would she made that video publicly available in the first place? You can set those videos on unlisted or private. And I wonder why uploading such a video on such a site in the first place? You could just send the file over to the ones who want it. There are a lot of possibilities.
But well, perhaps I will ask her that as soon she got the role!

Originally, I wasn't going to sign, because I wanted to respect Caroline's decision and give the new character a shot. But the more I think about it, the more I think we need Kate Kane back, mostly because Kate was such a driving force for the gay community. Not that another character couldn't embody that, but to have another character try to be as passionate about the subject, would just seem so fake.

Fingers crossed it gets Dries'and Berlanti's attention. I can't help this is a huge PR push to get buy in support for recasting Kate. The new character description is total sidekick. I would be definitely down for a Dynamic Duo.

Or, the CW sent out a general casting call with a sample page of dialog to audition with, and anyone can audition. Clearly, they don't already have someone in mind, or they wouldn't have put out the call. I think Sharp's just throwing her hat into the ring, not necessarily being asked to do so. I guess Caroline and team will have to judge whether she meets all their criteria. Altho, having a current character on Flash, I kinda think her chances are pretty slim.

Hartley Sawyer ... was just fired

Wow. Well, just goes to prove: nothing is private if it's posted on social media! I don't know if you're question was rhetorical or not, comic fan, but under the circumstances, I think they should just recast his character, since he's not the lead.

This is obviously a very different situation than the circumstances of Ruby leaving Batwoman but Batwoman related,the question that popped into my mind first,do they recast Ralph since they did just introduce Sue(his future wife) this past season and had long term plans there for the two characters or do they pull a Batwoman and replace Ralph with a new character that can also maybe stretch?

After all I would say they could do a lot worse. I actually downloaded the video from vimeo, as I had the strong feeling it wouldn't stay there.
Her only "problem" could be that she seemingly isn't a lesbian, when I look at her Instagram pictures.

So how does such an audition video gets leaked like that?

Could be any number of ways. Maybe it was leaked by someone on the inside at CW who wasn't supposed to. Or some hacker is doing a deep search, looking for interesting things to (steal,exploit,whatever). Or maybe something as simple as a fan entered the right search criteria and stumbled upon it. Personally, I would have included a little more security on a file like that to prevent exactly that from happening. But, given that Caroline has already said that they are going forward without Kate, I don't think there's that much damage control that needs to be done. I think you did the right thing, Siggi, and letting her know.

I informed .... whoever owned that channel.....about the audition video being widely visible on Vimeo.
I thought it wasn't the plan that everyone could actually see it and certainly some folks wouldn't be too happy about it.
Now the video isn't available anymore.....


*edit* I just found out that Natalie has an official account on vimeo with 40+ videos.
That account with her name that uploaded the audition video only had that one video.
So I guess whoever uploaded/leaked that video got into problems. Oh man....

Yeah, she definitely has that "Katee Sackhoff" vibe, doesn't she?
I was going to say something in my previous post about how two-dimensional the character of Sunshine was - but then, she was just a hired gun, albeit super-powered, who's now trapped in the mirror-verse.

However, I did not particularly care for the character Sunshine on the Flash. Still interesting.
